This home is all about balance—elegance and ease, tradition and personality. The clients wanted a space that felt elevated but approachable, kid-friendly, and ready to entertain. In the dining room, we began with a grounding wallcovering: a neutral, abstract Tibetan tiger pattern that supports future art collecting. An oak and steel table anchors the room, while walnut and black leather chairs by De La Espada bring comfort and craftsmanship. The oversized mirror and rustic console add just the right tension.
In the entry, we softened the formal architecture with a blue-and-white checker-painted floor—a nod to their love of New Orleans—and commissioned Verdigris Finishes to hand-paint a playful detail on the ceiling.
We especially love the music room. Once a rarely used sitting room, it’s now the soul of the home. This vibrant lounge is where the couple begins each day—with coffee, conversation, and their favorite records playing. We relocated the family piano and sourced seating tailored to each of them: her poppy red chair, his Womb Chair. Above the sofa hangs a tambourine assemblage by artist Paul Lee—a surprise gift from husband to wife, revealed on install day.
Designing a home that reflects the people who live in it is one of the greatest privileges of our work. It’s a deeply personal process—one that invites us into our clients’ lives, their rhythms, and what matters most to them. This home is a beautiful reflection of that intimacy and intention. It embodies everything we love about design: storytelling, soul, and a space that truly feels like home.
